Introducing Agentic Working Papers

Completed working papers in the Excel format you’ve agreed with your auditor.

An export can contain every test result and still leave hours of work. Someone has to fit those findings into the agreed working paper, add the evidence references and document exceptions in the required style. We’ve done that assembly ourselves.

Today we’re introducing Agentic Working Papers. Bring your evidence and an existing Excel template or prior-period workpaper. Bead’s AI agents deliver the testing results in that format.

Why the agreed format matters

Working papers are the record that testers, reviewers, management and external auditors use to examine and challenge the work. Reviewers follow sample results back to source evidence, examine exceptions and assess whether the conclusions hold.

The sections, sample tables, tickmarks and cross-references reflect the company’s methodology and its agreement with the external auditor. One team may use a detailed control assessment. Another may use a sample matrix across several tabs. A generic export leaves the team to translate its results into those conventions.

Your template shapes the testing

Bead reads the workbook before testing begins. It identifies the testing tables, expected result terms and note style. For a prior-period workpaper, it prepares a clean copy of the form with old results and sign-offs cleared.

Those requirements inform the testing plan alongside the control and its evidence. As the agents perform the test, they capture the fields and references the working paper needs.

Bead then fills a working copy of your Excel workbook with the current findings, evidence references, exceptions and conclusions, preserving its layout and styles. The working paper is ready for your team’s review and sign-off.

Your team can put that time into evaluating exceptions, following up with control owners and addressing risk.

Less time assembling working papers. More time to navigate the risk.
